Educational Qualifications for Navik (GD) & Yantriks Job Vacancy 2024

For Navik (General Duty):

  • Candidates must pass Class 12th with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).

For Yantrik:

  • Option 1:
    • Candidates must pass Class 10th from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
    • They must also hold a Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of a duration of 3 or 4 years, approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
  • Option 2:
    • Candidates must pass both Class 10th and Class 12th from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
    • Additionally, they must hold a Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of a duration of 2 or 3 years, approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Age Limit For Navik (GD) & Yantriks Job Vacancy 2024

Candidates applying for the post of Navik (GD) and Yantrik should be between the ages of 18 and 22 years, with their date of birth falling between March 1, 2003, and February 28, 2007, both dates inclusive. It’s important to note that upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates is applicable only if the posts are reserved for them.

Pay Scale, Promotion and Benefits

For Navik (General Duty):

  • Basic pay of Rs. 21,700/- (Pay Level 3) along with Dearness Allowance and additional allowances based on the nature of duty and place of posting, as per prevailing regulations.

For Yantrik:

  • Basic pay of Rs. 29,200/- (Pay Level 5) with an additional Yantrik pay of Rs. 6,200/-. Alongside, Dearness Allowance and other allowances are provided based on the nature of duty and place of posting as per the prevailing regulations.

Promotion and Perquisites:

(a) Promotion prospects extend up to the rank of Pradhan Adhikari/Pradhan Sahayak Engineer with a current pay scale of Rs. 47,600/- (Pay Level 8). Yantriks also receive Yantrik pay@ Rs. 6,200/-. Promotion to the Officer cadre is contingent upon suitability and performance during service, under regulations.

(b) Other Benefits: (i) Free ration and clothing as per existing rules. (ii) Free medical treatment for self and family, including dependent parents. (iii) Government accommodation provided for self & family. (iv) 45 days of Earned leave and 08 days of Casual leave annually, along with Leave Travel Concession (LTC) for self, family, and dependent parents as per Government rules. (v) Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and Gratuity upon retirement. (vi) Canteen facilities (CSD) and access to other loan facilities. (vii) Post-retirement ECHS medical facilities.

Selection Process for Navik (GD) & Yantriks Job Vacancy 2024

Stage I (Computer Based Examination):

  • Document verification, biometric recording, and written tests based on the post applied.
  • Biometric data captured at Stage I will be verified/recaptured at subsequent stages.

Stage II:

  • Candidates shortlisted from Stage I undergo assessment, adaptability tests, and physical fitness tests.
  • Document verification and recruitment medical examination conducted.

Preparation of Final Merit List (Stage III):

  • Candidates qualifying for Stages I and II will be considered based on merit and vacancies available.
  • Tie-breaking rules apply if candidates score the same marks in Stage I.

Stage III:

  • Provisionally shortlisted candidates undergo document verification and final recruitment medicals at INS Chilka.
  • Submission of original documents, police verification, and associated forms required.

Stage IV:

  • Candidates undergoing training submit original documents for verification.
  • Termination from service if documents are found not genuine by respective authorities.
